It's time for London Fashion Week again! :) I've got a lot to do this season, so you can expect tons of posts in the next days / weeks!

Primarily I'm flying to London as a reporter for VEET and I'll be posting frequently on the VEET facebook page, so be sure to like the page for daily infos about LFW!

Furthermore I'll be accompanied by a camera team for one day, but I'll tell you more about that in a few days, and I've got some more interesting appointments planned, so as you can see next week is going to be quite packed for me and I can't wait!

NYFW AW 12 - Top 3

I just klicked through a few NYFW shows and discovered three which I absolutely loved and just needed to share with you! So here are my fave looks from my top three NYFW shows so far.

1. Rachel Zoe

These four looks are just beyond perfect, this is exactly what I want to look like right now! Especially the left and the right look - so into suits, flares and coats thrown over the shoulder.. getting inspired!

And the shoes.. yumm!

2. Christian Siriano

Four more looks that took my breath away while checking out the catwalk images on vogue.co.uk from the show of Project Runway Season 4 winner Christian Siriano. Rather simple, held in black and white, but so well tailored and the perfect mix between girly, rock-chic and classy. Stunning.

3.Richard Chai

Really nice and clean prints, amazing proportions, again coats worn over the shoulders and cool boots made me fall in love with Richard Chai AW 12 - I want to own these outfits please!!

Lately I've been crushing on print mix looks, I especially love the combination of different flower prints as seen in the latest Zara trf lookbook. I could totally imagine myself wearing flower print skinnies combined with a flower print blouse, a leather jacket and simple black shoes!

Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // Laurèl

Laurèl was definitely one of my favourite shows this season,I think I'd wear the entire collection! The show started of pretty amazing with a model in a sexy black jumpsuit smoking an electric cigarette ( did someone get inspired by Louis Vuitton? ;)) As I later came to know, the jumpsuit was designed by a student from Esmod because she won a contest, who went to a school in the same city I do and who I know a bit, so amazing!

During BFW I saw a lot of shows in which the main part of the collections was held in simple shades and topped off with bright, sometimes even neon coloured pieces. Laurèl was one of them. The colours used were black, grey, cream, bright blue, green and orange. The pieces were really classy, I especially loved the flared pants which appeared several times. Black headbands, long gloves, socks in high heels and a lot of fur on coats, bags, scarves and even some of the garments added a special touch. To the end of the show designer Elisabeth Schwaiger presented a few chic evening outfits with sequins, feathers and gowns. A great end for a great show!

Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // Mongrels in Common

Mongrels in Common was one of those shows for me in which you sit and think you'd wear almost every single look. It was classy, not to extravagant but still eye-catching due to the fabrics, combinations and cuts. The show began with a lot of head to toe black looks, later on designer duo added some bright blue and grey. The soft stone-print as seen on the picture above which appeared on several silk pieces throughout the collection was incredibly beautiful. Masculine cuts, some leather and satin applications and big gold chandelier earrings added another special touch.
And the boots - oh my! Leather, block heels, fringes - perfect.

I'm in love! Livia Carrillo and Christine Pluess, would you like to dress me? ;)

Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // Escada Sport

Escada Sport was the first show at BFW and a really good start, I liked the collection a lot. The colour palette ranged from simple earthtones, white and black to bright peachy pink and aquamarine.

Flower, stone and check prints were mixed together which I loved and which added a special touch to the quite classy collection consisting of slim pants, blouses under pullovers and cardigans, straight skirts and dresses and warm coats. The looks were topped off with really cool, pointy, fur lined heels.

My favourite looks were two velvet dresses with collar and cut-out in black and aquamarine which you can see on the first picture and the following print-mix outfit.

Yesterday was the last day of Berlin Fashion Week for me, I'm sitting at the airport right now waiting for my flight back to Frankfurt. Somehow BFW was kind of weird this season, I don't know why, it was over so quickly and I didn't really take that many pictures, because there wasn't a lot to photograph, apart from the usual catwalk pictures. Of course, it was still super amazing, Fashion Weeks always are, the shows I've seen were quite nice, the parties a lot of fun and it was so great to see all my lovely boys and girls :) but something was different compared to the previous seasons and most of the people I've talked to agreed with me. Strange. But I don't want to complain, as I said, I still had a really great time :)

So you can expect show reports and some snapshots, an instagram journal and hopefully some outfit pictures in the following days! Stay tuned :)

flashback: Dubai

Well, these are the last impressions from our amazing trip to Dubai over Christmas. In my eyes, Dubai is the perfect destination for a vacation: the culture is on the one hand extremely different from the European culture and it's really interesting to explore it, but on the other hand it's also rather similar so that you never feel uncomfortable. Furthermore you have both - the beach and big city life :) And of course, it has a lot to offer for fashion lovers. I enjoyed every second and I'm sure it wasn't my last visit!

P.S.: It's just so amazing how beautiful the city looks at night, with all its lights ♥

Cailin in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

Thursday was a really exciting day for me, since it was the day one of Germany's biggest newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" published an article about me and my blog :) I visited their headquarters in October for the interview and to have some photos taken. It's so weird, amazing and unbelievable to see your own face in the paper and I am so proud and happy :)

As promised, here's my flashback of the second half of wonderful 2011.

July

Berlin Fashion Week again, having a wonderful time with my loves, meeting amazing people like Francisco Lachowski, Andrej Pejic and Terry Richardson and of course a lot of partying ;)

August

Probably the most memorable month for me was August - the month of changes. First of all the changes in my outer appearance: my first tattoo and a new hairstyle; and then something that changed my everyday life entirely, namely my dream part-time job at Urban Outfitters, my all-time favourite store. I'm so thankful for it, it's so much fun to work there and I've found lots and lots of amazing new friends there! Btw, I wanted to thank all of you who came up to me in the store and said hi and complimented me on my blog, that means so much to me :)
After a short trip to Hamburg where I met up with Dustin, Olive and Pascal, my final school year began and has taken over a lot of my time which made it harder for me to blog on a regular basis which really bugs me, but I'll try to find a better way to make it work in 2012!

September

London Fashion Week together with Dustin and Olive including an invitation to the Vivienne Westwood show, which was a real highlight for me and two Vogue features. I think the pictures speak for themselves and demonstrate quite well how amazing it was!

October

October was the month of traveling for me: a class trip to Madrid, a stay at Josi and Dustin's new home in Berlin and the super fun Shoe Step of the Year Award in Hamburg together with Olive and Josi. Quite amazing 4 weeks :D

November

November was a calm, regular month with a lot of school work.

December

December, 2011's final month was the perfect ending to a perfect year, starting with a 2 day trip to Berlin for the Zign and mint&berry Fashion Bingo and our beautiful Christmas vacation to Dubai.

It's so surreal what I've had the pleasure to experience in only one year and I still can't believe everything that has happened to me, I feel like the luckiest girl on earth :)
Now, 2012 will be pretty exciting as well, I do hope in a good way. I'll finish school and hopefully start studying and maybe even move due to that - I have no idea what's going to happen, but I hope this new year will be another good one for me, and of course I hope it'll be a good one for you too! Fingers crossed.

I read a quote in Dubai which I thought was a really nice mantra for 2012 and I wanted to share it with you.

Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, hate less, love more and all good things will be yours.

So what's left to say now is that I wish you all a great NYE and a good start for 2012, see you next year! ♥

Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2012

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Jack & Lazaro, the designers of PS, and that Proenza Schouler is one of my favourite labels. I just found these pictures of their Pre-Fall 2012 collection on their facebook page and once again it's love. The layering is more than perfect and I adore the combination of black to those amazing shades of orange, green and blue and the mix of materials. Every detail is just incredible: from the pointy black heels which go so well with those wide shapes, to the cute bustier tops, to those fur clutches and to the lenght of the skirts ♥

January

Berlin Fashion Week AW 11 took over the main part of January and was beyond amazing!

February

London Fashion Week AW 11 was definitely the most exciting thing in February, but what would you expect ;) Otherwise I only remember incredibly cold days.

March

These pictures from march show some outfits and details, the 25hours Hotel in Frankfurt in which I stayed together with Josi for the FashionHub launch party (pictures 2&5) and me and Dustin at the main station in Frankfurt.

April

A short trip to Brussels with my family, a beauty weekend in Seeheim-Jugenheim with Paul Mitchell and a 16 page feature in ilikemystyle magazine were the most memorable events in April.

May

May brought the first summer feelings and a visit from Josi, Dustin and Angelina for the Range Rover Evoque Party at the Cocoon Club.

June

June was probably the most important month this year for me, since it was the month I finally turned 18! :) And it was the month we left for our completely and utterly perfect family summer vacation to paradise (Robinson Club Agadir in Morocco).

So, as I already announced in my last post, I flew to Berlin yesterday after school for the night and the Zign and mint&berry Fashion Bingo which I attended together with Josi, Dustin and Anjelica. Other attendants were Katja from Les Mads, David from Dandy Diary and the twins Desi & Nisi from teetharejade.

The event was really nice! At first we were presented the collections of Zign and mint&berry at the cool location called Merkezi and then we were served a tasty three course menu. In between the courses we played Bingo and guess who was the first winner? Me - yay :D I won a voucher for a pair of Zign glitter shoes :)

So, as you can see, I had a really nice, though extremely short, time in Berlin :)

Btw sorry for the tons of photos of the Michelberger Hotel, but the interior was just too amazing to not to share with you! :)

I just stumbled over these utterly stunning pictures of one of my favourite models freja beha and had to stare at them for minutes and I'm still fascinated, so I felt the urge to share them with you!

Aren't they perfect? Especially the first picture is truly enchanting! I love the setting, the light, the atmosphere and the softness of the shots so much, and, of course, the focus on freja's beyond amazing tattoos!

This is what I wore to work yesterday - I must say these heels are seriously comfy for their height!

As the days get shorter and shorter it's rather difficult for me to take outfit pictures, since I have school until 5 o'clock every day and by the time I get home it's usually already too dark..but I'll try to work something out, I'm sure there's a solution :)

The quality of the outfit picture above isn't ideal either, but better than nothing I guess :) and please ignore my frizzy hair haha, I have an appointment at the hair dressers on Friday ;)

Furthermore the portfolio sums up pretty good what the fashion for SS 12 will be like: colourful, pompous, playful and most of all a lot of fun! And it seems like print mixing is the new colour blocking doesn't it? I already can't wait for next spring and summer looking at theses pictures.. :)

Shoe Step of the Year Award 2011

So this is the reason I spent a night in Hamburg: The Shoe Step of the Year Award.
After welcome drinks we were lead into an impressive ballroom where the award ceremony took place. The Shoe Step of the Year Award is an award which honours photo spreads which focus on shoes in german magazines. There were 5 cathegories like for example weekly magazine, monthly magazine, non-published spread. In between the laudatios and proclamation of the winners 5 designers (e.g. Malaika Raiss) showed a few looks of their current collections.
Afterwards we attended the aftershowparty where we ate the most amazing food and enjoyed free champagne :D
It was such an amazing night ♥

The most important thing for me as a fashion blogger obviously is, apart from my camera, my laptop. So why shouldn’t a fashion bloggers laptop be fashionable as well? :D That’s exactly what the people over at my-wardrobe thought so they teamed up with Dell to launch a stylish laptop! :D Amazing idea, right? So when, a few days ago, the postman arrived at my home with a package with two big my-wardrobe bags in it, I was really excited to open them up and check out the laptop and it’s covers and I wasn't dissapointed :)

So here’s how it works: the Dell Switch comes with several different covers which can be clicked to the top of the case and which gives the laptop a new look with each change of covers! Now I can style my laptop to match my outfits :D

London Fashion Week SS 2012 // Vivienne Westwood Red Label

I know it's quite late but I still have one show report from LFW for you.
When I arrived in London and collected my invitations I couldn`t quite believe my eyes: there was an invitation to the Vivienne Westwood show waiting for me I hadn`t known anything about :)

The show and the huge location were more than impressive and the atmosphere was overwhelming.
Among the guests were stars like Pamela Anderson, Kelis, Eliza Doolittle, Paloma Faith and Kate Lanpher which was exciting as well.

The main colours of the collection were navy, white and sand and with hints of orange, yellow and red.
The looks were topped of with bright and colourful make up and high, crazy hairstyles, which kind of reminded me of the hairstyles Kirsten Dunst is wearing in the movie Marie Antoinette.

The outfits consisted of pencil skirts, simple cardigans, sometimes even worn as dresses, bustier tops with mini skirts, a lot of suits, hotpants and cocktail dresses at the end of the show.

Most eye-catching piece: a bright red shoulderless tulle evening gown.

The finale totally gave me goosebumps: Vivienne Westwood walking the runway only a few metres away from me with all the models following her :)

Famous models to walk the show: Charlotte Free, Irina Lazareanu and Iekeline Stange.

The Felder Felder sisters created yet another perfect collection for SS 12, I think I could gush about their pieces for hours! I'd pretty much wear everything!

There were those typical Felder Felder digital prints and shapes (tight top with a-line skirt,corsages,maxis). The collection was held in white, black, blue, sea-green and peachy orange.

London Fashion Week SS 2012 // Craig Lawrence

If you've already followed my blog during AW and SS 11, you might remember Craig Lawrence from my reviews here and here. I was completely and utterly in love with both his previous collections, and this season was no exception!

First of all, I absolutely love salon shows, they give you a lot more time to take a closer look at the pieces and especially great at the Craig Lawrence salon shows is that there's a guy who reads out how Lawrence created the pieces and names the material they're made of.
Lawrence did an amazing job of layering this season, all the pieces were so light and thin that they can easily be worn on top of each other which creates a beautiful effect. The whole collection was held in white and various shades of cream.
I am stunned by Craig Lawrence's talent and creativity, he puts so much effort into his garments! He shows knitted pieces every season, yet they look completely different every time!
I can't wait to see what he'll come up with for his next collection :)

Unconditional designer Philip Stephens combined soft, flowy pieces with fetish details like spiked harness belts. The contrast of these elements made the collection so interesting and special. The colours were really contrasting as well, there were several outfits which were mainly held in black or/and white, sometimes combined with a dark burgundy and then there were a lot of pieces in popping colours like pink and yellow as seen on the pictures above.

The hair of the models was slicked back and decorated with lots of big hair clips.

The ceiling over the catwalk was covered completely with light bulbs which created an amazing atmosphere!

London Fashion Week SS 2012 // Michael van der Ham

First of all, Michael van der Ham started off pretty amazing. The Topshop Venue at the old Eurostar Terminal was breathtaking and there was a bar where every guest was served the most amazing quiche, salad & delicious ice tea.

The collection was all about print mixing, but not as different patterned garments worn together, but as mainly white pieces which were covered with several different prints, giving it a patchwork kind of look and consisted of skirts and dresses of all lengths,blouses and 7/8 length high waist pants.

The ice cream colours, glittery clutches, colourful belts, sunglasses and t-strap heels added the final touch to a collection which couldn't be more appropriate for Spring / Summer!

I took a video of the finale, which I embedded below. You can spot lovely Anna Dello Russo front row eating her hair :D

London Fashion Week SS 2012 // Ashish

Ashish was loud, colourful, flamboyant, overloaded, trashy and tacky - actually not my thing at all. But somehow, I completely LOVED the collection!

The main theme of the collection was definitely "farm-girl-chic", expressed in flower prints on every outfit, worker boots decorated with real flowers, straw hats, boyish silhouettes and side braids.

Another important aspect was print-mixing - brick wall and vichy prints and stripes combined with flower prints, or two or more different flower printed pieces worn together. Most of the pieces were topped of with sequins, which added a touch of glamour to the garments.

London Fashion Week SS 2012 // Vauxhall Graduate Showcase

"Internationally recognized as the home of new talent, Vauxhall Fashion Scout present a selection of the very best new graduates to come out from and around graduate Fashion Week." via event poster

I was highly impressed by the Graduate Showcase presented by the Vauxhall Fashion Scout, since the pieces shown by the young, new designers were super creative and beyond beautiful. The bandwidth of different styles was amazing, I can't believe that the designers were only graduates!

My favourite piece was the blouse dress on pictures 5 and 6 which was covered with fountain pen tips which moved up and down electronically - stunning. It's by Steven Tai and I had the opportunity to chat with him, he told me how he created his pieces and that he was inspired by nerds :)

The names of all the exhibited designers were: Anna Smit, Camilla Blase Woodman, Charlotte Barry, Helen Turner, Kate Wallis, Nicola Morgan, Nova Chiu, Parsha Gerayesh-Nejad, Patrick Li, Steven Tai, Umeromaan and Victoria Spruce.

Burberry Prorsum SS 2012

Whilst you can never know what the designers are going to come up with for the new season and if you're going to like the collection or not, there's one thing I am pretty certain of: Christopher Bailey will probably never fail to stun, impress and surprise me.

Bailey is one of very few designers who manage to create something entirely new every season, which in the end still has that typical Burberry look about it, which totally fascinates me.

SS 2012 is no exception at all. The colour scheme was breathtakingly beautiful and ranges from wine red, royal purple, various shades of green, yellow and blue to some beige, brown and cream.

There was a lot of interesting detailing like Aztec-look decorations, cut-outs, beads, feathers and knots.

Bailey sticks to midi-length, all of the dresses, coats and skirts were knee length. Another important element was woven basket-like materials not only for shoes as you can make out on the last pictures, but for coats and bags as well.

Dustin, Olive and I decided to go to the Burberry Prorsum venue yesterday to take pictures of the attendes and just feel the buzz of the most important and exciting show at LFW and it was totally worth it. I snapped a lot of pictures of models and front-row guest as they were leaving the show, which I am going to show you in the following days :)

Teatum Jones already seemed lovely at first sight: light, flowy materials and amazing stone textured prints. But there was defenitely more to it than that. Some of the pieces had half blazers attached to them, which had an amazing effect.

There's an opening night with music, goodie bags, drinks etc. on the 1st of September and I'd be thrilled to see you there!

I've been wanting to do something different with my hair since ages but I just couldn't decide between a touch of natural red and ombre for probably almost a year now. Yesterday I went to the hairdresser to get a fresh haircut and spontaneously decided to go for ombre, and I am really happy with it :) It's nothing too extraordinary, but the lower party of my hair is a lot blonder than the rest now and I love it! I've become really addicted to the app "Instagram", where you can edit images you take with your phone and easily share them with your instagram, twitter, tumblr, facebook etc. followers. The pictures above are pictures I took in the last couple of weeks. I think I'm going to share some pictures of my instagram account with you once in a while from now on.

Today was the first day of school after the summer break, and the first day of my final year in school.. I have quite a stressful year ahead of me, but I'm sure I'll manage everything somehow :)

As you can see I'm sporting one of the trends I've presented in my post yesterday : python print. I really fell in love with the print and I'm currently looking for the perfect pair of python print skinnies, I saw a nice pair in the Zara FW campaign, I hope they'll be available soon.

Get ready for A/W 2011

Most of the summer sales are over by now and the AW 11 collections hit the stores step by step. Seems like it's already time to get ready for the colder months, right? So I decided to sum up the trends for AW I noticed whilst browing through the collections.

Transparency

Transparency was definitely one of the most striking trends for this season, it can be found in almost every collection! Especially black, transparent garments were everywhere! You can make out the way it was generally used quite good in the two examples above, Givenchy and LV: transparent skirts or tops combined with thick pieces like big sweaters, which make the transparent parts stand out even more.

Collars

Round collars, collars with bows, with ruffles, with embellishments, collars in every shape, size, material or colour possible can be found in the AW11 collections. Buttoned up is the new sexy. Okay, well the collar trend isn't exactly that new, but as you can see it's here to stay!

Animal Prints

A panther here, birds there, a fox over there... Seems like Miuccia turned a lot of designers into animal lovers with her famous SS10 collection, doesn't it? A few years ago it would have been rather ridiculous to walk around in a dress covered with animals, but by now it's as usual as a polka dot print.

Thin Feathers

Thin and soft feathers are another big trend this season, but not just as a decoration on a bag or the hemline etc., no, it's only really effective when the whole dress, coat or skirt is covered with them. Preferably in bright colours. Remember D&G? All the models were wearing big feather skirts in every colour possible for the finale (klick).

Black Velvet

If you want to look glamorous and noble this season go for black velvet and you can do no wrong. Seen on the catwalk topped of with ironic and flower prints, royal green,blue and gold at Givenchy and chunky brown leather wedges, gold embellished flowers and transparency at Charles Anastase.

Embellished Flowers

A huge detail trend are embellished flowers on basically everything: skirts, dresses, blazers, belts, sleeves - really, everything. The pictures above are just a tiny assortment of all the embellished flowers I found in the AW collections. And I can totally see why they were so popular amongst the designers - simply add a few of them and the whole look is a lot more special and looks really precious and luxourius.

Python

The python print is back! It was mainly used for coats, shoes and accessories on the runway, but I've already seen tops, pants, dresses, blouses and so on in the high street stores and on streetstyle blogs, so I'm quite sure we'll see more than a little touch of python print in the next months.

Slashed Skirts

I remember slashed skirts being a no-go for quite some time, but not anymore! Get ready to show your legs! But actually I have reason to believe it's more of and red-carpet trend, since I can't imagine that anyone would walk around with bare legs in the middle of winter...

101 Dalmatians

One of the most fun trends this season: 101 Dalmatians. Cruella De Vil never got her Dalmatians coat, but you can now ;) Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Topshop Unique showed whole collections dedicated to the black and white dogs - cute!

My faves are, how else could it be, the bird prints and the feathers :) Furthermore I totally love the black velvet pieces and the collars.
But actually, I have to say I like almost all of the looks above, and fashion-wise I can't wait for AW!

I got my first tattoo yesterday ♥ This cute little bird is going to accompany me every day from now on :)

The thought of wanting a swallow tattoo first crossed my mind in 2007 when I fell in love with the one Sienna Miller had and I've been wanting it ever since :) Plus you know how obsessed I am with birds, so I didn't have any doubts at all about the motif. So now, because I just turned 18, I finally decided to do it and I am more than happy about the result :) ♥

Art & Fashion Exhibition Wolfsburg

On our way back home from Hamburg me and my parents visited the Art & Fashion Exhibition in Wolfsburg, which was pretty great. They had pieces from amazing designers like Victor & Rolf (a dress from THE V&R collection: SS10 ♥), Charlie Le Mindu and Maison Martin Margiela.

Luckily I was allowed to take pictures, so I can share my experience with you :)
